By setting goals that are in reach, it will let them know that they can actually meet those goals, but then when you encourage them to go beyond that, they may push themselves a little harder. to get them to do this, consider setting up different tiers of incentives. For instance, if they make their base goal they won't get an incentive, but if they make the next level, which may be $10,000 more that month, then you may treat them to lunch. If they make the next goal, which may be $15,000 more that month, then maybe they can get another vacation day. By having these goals in reach, it will help to motivate your employees.
